Minutes of Regular Session

Monday, May 9, 2011

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen met in regular session on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall with the following members present:

Mayor William Allen

 Alderman Eddie Barnett, Jr.

Alderman Rickie Holloway

City Clerk Randall Baker was present and performed the duties of his office.

Mayor Allen asked that before starting the meeting each person offer a silent prayer.

The Mayor then called the session to order and requested a roll call.

Approval of Minutes

Motion was made by Alderman Barnett and seconded by Alderman Holloway to approve the minutes of the April 11, 2011 adjourn session.  Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Alderman Barnett and seconded by Alderman Holloway to approve the minutes of the April 11, 2011 regular session.  Motion carried unanimously.

Payment of Bills

Motion was made by Alderman Barnett and seconded by Alderman Holloway to approve payment of the monthly bills.  Motion carried unanimously.

Ruth Ann Blakemore concerning zoning change

Ruth Ann Blakemore met with the Council to discuss a change in Zoning Classification of a property she owns on Maple Street.  She also requested that a street light be installed on the corner of Maple Street and Frisco Road and that Maple Street be paved.

Mayor Allen stated that the change of zoning classification would have to start with the Zoning Board.  He also stated that many street lights had been discontinued due to the sale of the electric system to Ozark Border and budget cuts.  He said the City would be doing some repair work to the streets and that Maple Street would be reviewed for what work needed to be done there.

Motion was made by Alderman Holloway and seconded by Alderman Barnett to adjourn.  Motion carried unanimously.
